21k Laser Projection for Hillsong Oxford.

LCH Production Services was asked to provide a video solution consisting of a 20′ x 11’3″ 16:9 ratio front project screen and Panasonic 21K laser projector . For a very video heavy easter service at the New Theatre Oxford.

A Panasonic 21K Laser projector was to provide vivid images & videos for the content heavy service.

Benefits of laser projection are –

  • Minimal current draw ( Runs on a 16A – 20A Powercon)
  • Quieter operation perfect for theatre.
  • Cheaper running costs
  • Weight

Signal was sent to the projector via a Lightware DVI-CAT 7 system, allowing control to be set up off stage. A backup HD-SDI line was also sent to the projector. A MacBook Pro was used for all media playout. A backup MacBook Pro was also set up and could be switched at any time to the screen via Hillsong Oxford’s Barco Screen Pro II.

In addition to the projection solution provided another Lightware DVI-CAT 7 system was used to send a camera feed to the family room via the in house CAT5e patch, providing the family room with a live camera feed of the service.

Over 1100 people attended the Easter service, by far the largest gathering Hillsong Oxford has had. The feedback from everyone was very positive with lots of people commenting on how engaging the service was.
